1708 Biaxial Cloth sold in multi-yard packs, is an ideal glass for tabbing, reinforcements, and other repairs and it conforms well to contours. Flat, non-crimped fibers result in less print-through and greater stiffness than woven fabrics.

 

A .75 ounce chopped strand mat is stitched to the back of the 17-ounce roving with no styrene binders making it suitable for use with epoxy and polyester resins.

 

Please note that if you plan to use epoxy laminating resin, the .75oz chopped strand mat will make this product much harder to wet out, and in most cases, the chopped strand mat is not necessary when using epoxy resin. You may want to select 1700 Biaxial instead when using epoxy laminating resin. The addition of the .75oz chopped strand mat will absorb about 30% more epoxy resin resulting in a heavier and more brittle laminate.
